We visited Vietnam twice. During our first visit, we only went to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). In HCMC we visited:

• War Remnants Museum
• Cu Chi Tunnels
• Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
• Mariamman Temple

In our second visit, we went to three cities in Vietnam, the capital city Hanoi, Hoi An and Da Nang. We also visited Quang Nam Province and Quang Ninh Province. The places we visited:

• Theatre of Vietnam
• Hoi An Ancient Town
• Ba Na Hill Station
• Marble Mountains
• Museum of Cham Sculpture
• Son Tra Peninsula
• Han Market
• My Son Sanctuary
• Ba Na Hills
• Halong Bay (written in the previous post)

In this post, I will share my photos and tell you about three places we visited in our second trip.

These three places are, Bana Hills, Marble Mountains and Son Tra Peninsula. The view from these three places would be a scenic photographer’s dream come true. The view you get from there is spectacular.

1. Ba Na Hills

Ba Na Hills is a resort and hill station located in Da Nang City. It was established in 1919 by the French Colonists. There is a cable car network that ferries tourists to and from the resort due the hill’s high altitude. There is a complete new world inside this place. There are various attractions, amusements and rides. The rides are located in the Fantasy Park. There is also a statue of Buddha which you can see from inside the cable car.

I thoroughly enjoyed the thrilling rides as a kid and also the view of the nearby mountains from inside the cable car.

There is a 150 metre long Golden Bridge in the Ba Na Hills Resort which opened in June 2018. We could not go as it wasn’t constructed when we went.

The Ba Na Hills recently announced that its third cable car system leading to the peak of Ba Na Mountain has hold four Guinness world records for the longest non-stop single track cable car with a total length of 5,771.61m, the highest non-stop single cable car with a height difference of 1,368.93m, the longest single cable with a total length of 11,587m and the heaviest cable reel with a weight of 141.24 tonnes. 2. Marble Mountains

The marble mountains comprise of marble and limestone hills. There are five mountains named after five elements, namely metal, water, wood, fire and earth. These mountains have cave entrances and various tunnels which makes it possible for tourists to climb up till the peak of one of the mountains. You get a stunning view from all sides of the mountain.

Although walking till the top of the mountain could be hard work, once you go there, you would think that it’s worth it. That’s how I felt!

There is a Marble Handicraft Sculptures Exhibition center which we visited. Over there, you would be able to see sculptures made by skilled craftsmen.

3. Son Tra Peninsula

There is a mountain in the Son Tra Peninsula that overlooks the Bay of Da Nang and the East Sea. You get to see a panoramic view of the city from up the mountain.

In Son Tra Peninsula’s Son Tra Mountain, there is Linh Ung Pagoda. The Linh Ung Pagoda is the largest Pagoda in Central Vietnam. There is a Buddhist Pagoda that has Vietnam’s largest Buddhist statue, the Lady Buddha Statue which is 67m high.

One of them is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built by the Kings of Champa while the other one has the world’s largest collection of Champa sculptures. Can you guess these two places?!
