Hi Everyone! First of all, Happy New Year 2022 to you all!!! This is my first post for 2022, so, without any further due, let’s zooom in to the post (you’ll get to know what I mean once you read this post!)

This post, and the next two posts are going to be on this year’s Grand Prix held in Abu Dhabi. We were lucky enough to be there and witness one of the most dramatic F1 championships in history so far. This was a four day event held from 9th to 12 December 2021. We were there on the 10th, 11th and 12th.

Apart from the FIA F1 (Formula 1) Grand Prix on the 12th, there were races for F4 and F2 too. We got to witness the Qualifying Sessions and Practice Sessions too. For members of the Paddock Club, they could get a Pit Lane Walk.

This was the first time I went to a Grand Prix event in my life, so it definitely was a new experience for me!

You might have heard about this year’s Grand Prix, as it had one of the most dramatic ends in history! (yup, not my words, those were my uncle’s words). 2021’s Grand Prix was between seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull). There have been mixed reviews on whether Max Verstappen should have been crowned World Champion for the year or not. This was on Day 4, so I’ll be writing on that, after my next post.

I thoroughly enjoyed going there those 3 days, it gave me a completely new perspective on racing and cars. Actually, for a few days after the Grand Prix, I could still hear cars zooming at top speed in my mind!!!

As soon as you enter the premises, after scanning the ticket, you would see flags with the racers’ names and their car numbers:

F1 stores and eateries are available inside the venue:

You can get a shirt with your favorite racer’s car number and something to drink before going to watch the race!

There was a screen opposite to where we got our seats:

The second day of the grand event, Friday, was called ’Family Friday’.

We witnessed these events on Day 2:

As it was the first time for me over there, initially, I didn’t understand how to figure out which driver was in the car, Later, I figured out that, by the car number and also there are the companies’/sponsors’ names on the car.
Lewis Hamilton-44, Max Verstappen-33, Carlos Sainz Jr-55, Valtteri Bottas- 77, Sergio Perez- 11, Daniel Ricciardo-3 etc.

At times in the below video, you can see the sun setting in the background.

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver in this practice session, followed by Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas, who was Hamilton’s teammate at Mercedes’ at that time.
